Hello, and welcome!
Here’s a little about me:
I grew up in a small town in the northwest corner of Connecticut. I graduated from UCONN with a B.A., double-majoring in English and Journalism. While at UCONN, I wrote for two columns in the Daily Campus and was co-founder of the UCONN’s first improv group, Agents of Improv.
I’m a NAUI-certified scuba diver and dived in the Great Barrier Reef in summer of 2014. An avid gamer and a Star Wars fan, I also love binge-watching YouTube and Netflix on weekends, especially Pixar movies and the shows Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead.
Teaching runs in the family; Mr. Wasley teaches 9th grade Earth Science and 11th/12th grade Marine Science at Hall High School in West Hartford, Conn.
We have an orange tabby cat named Venture, a Siamese cat named Roxy, a Australian Shepherd named Yuna (a Skyhoundz disc dog competitor) and an Australian Shepherd-Border Collie mix rescue named Link (registered therapy dog and champion at snuggling on the couch).
My husband and I are also vegetarians. I am a social and animal rights activist and volunteer for the organization Farm Sanctuary.
My favorite books and short stories include: The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Harry Potter (my favorite is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!) by J.K. Rowling, The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer, Penpal by Dathan Auerbach, and many more!
