AP Language & Composition: Summer Assignment

Welcome to AP Language & Composition! I’m excited to have you, some of the top English students here at ESUMS, in my class this year!

AP Language & Composition combines the study of rhetoric with the study of literature. Expectations for this course are high. We will move through texts quickly, analyze them in depth, and work persistently to better understand how authors write effectively in order to inform and persuade. Throughout this course, you will expand your vocabulary, improve your writing through the use of proper grammar and sound writing conventions, and become much more well read. In preparation for the 2017-2018 school year, each AP Language student must complete a summer assignment. This assignment, which is split into three parts, is designed to get you into the mode of thinking critically about the information you come across every day.
